The World's First AOL Computer?

from the it's-getting-there dept

MSNBC has what is officially a review of the Lindows machine that is being sold at Wal-Mart, but the writer points out that he thinks this is really an early test of what will soon be an "AOL computer". The latest system is fairly easy to use and comes with a working version of AOL. Basically, he suggests that Lindows is going to be AOL's latest platform. It certainly is a way for them to get away from Microsoft. I'm a bit surprised, since you normally think of AOL users as being non-technically savvy, and less willing to go with a "different" operating system. However, if AOL can really help make Lindows user friendly, and they keep selling the boxes for $200 at Wal-Mart - perhaps a Lindows/AOL strategy does make sense.
