Next To Go: Corporate Travel Agents
from the why-bother? dept
The idea of ever using an actual travel agent seems so foreign to me right now, that I was surprised to find out that so many companies still do have corporate travel agents. Nowadays, though, small and mid-sized companies are ditching corporate travel agents in favor of booking flights themselves online. Interestingly, the article also talks about "leakage" and "rogue" employees of companies that do use travel agents, who sneak onto web travel sites and find the best deals for themselves rather than going through the official procedures. Many companies have been asked by travel agents to ban their employees from surfing the web for airfare.
