Legal Issues

Making Tech Savvy Lawyers

from the might-help dept

While many law schools have added cyberlaw-type classes to the curriculum, a few have realized that they need to go even further and are teaching law students to be more technically savvy, themselves. They're not teaching specific, proprietary applications, but trying to have the students get a better feel for the technology, and what it can do. This lets them have a better understanding of how technology can help them in their legal careers, as well as be in a better position to work on issues involving technology. I think this is a good thing - since it seems that so many of the bad decisions we see coming out of the courts these days comes from people who clearly don't understand the technology they're dealing with.
