Tech Job Market Stagnating
from the good-news:-things-aren't-getting-worse dept
You know things are bad when the best news a jobs report can come up with is "well, at least things aren't getting worse". That's the latest job market report for the tech industry. There aren't many new jobs in the sector, but they've slowed down the layoffs too. Most technology job openings, these days, are for non-tech companies looking to increase their IT staff. It also seems that hiring managers (who have been notoriously optimistic) are finally realizing that the economy hasn't really bounced back as quickly as they had hoped and are slowly lowering their estimates for how many people to hire over the next year or so.
