Amazon Invents Segway Shipping Delay
from the pay-no-attention-to-the-robot-behind-the-email dept
A lot of people who had signed up with Amazon to be notified when the Segway Human Transporters are available were a bit surprised today when they got an email saying that they had received notification from the "supplier" that the scooters wouldn't be available for the foreseeable future. The people most surprised, however, were the folks at Segway, who said they haven't spoken to Amazon and, in fact, everything was going according to schedule. Amazon says that it was an error by a automated email program. Of course, let's face it, that email was actually correct. The scooters aren't going to be available for the "foreseeable future". No one seems to know when a general public release will be. I'd say the automated email system knows what it's talking about.
