Can Google Stay Sweet?
from the downsides-to-being-on-top dept
An interesting look at Google for being the Marcia Brady of the internet, and wondering if the site that everyone uses can "stay sweet". The article runs through a number of bumps in the road that Google has faced recently, including accusations that they're manipulating page rankings downward to try to get people to pay for text ads. I would be surprised if that was happening, as Google has been a pretty strong supporter of making sure their technology spoke for itself. However, it seems that some people always hate a winner (especially when it doesn't rank them that high) and are going to come up with all sorts of reasons why Google is conspiring against them.
