Is The Internet Essential?
from the hell-yes dept
A new study has found that 20% of Americans feel that the internet is the most essential medium in their lives. It's even stronger (not surprisingly) among younger people. The study also points out that people who tend to be heavy users of streaming audio and video are also much bigger consumers of movies and CDs. In other words, those people that the entertainment industry says is stealing from them, are actually helping keep them alive. This, of course, shouldn't come as a surprise to most of you who have heard me rant on about this, but it's yet another study to add to the books. Yet another study that the entertainment industry will ignore, to their own peril.
