Online Ads Piss People Off
from the in-case-you-hadn't-noticed dept
For the really thick among you (and you probably work in the advertising industry if you hadn't realized this yet), a new study has shown that people get really annoyed when overwhelmed with advertisements online. If they feel they're being bombarded with advertisements it makes them (1) think less of the site they are visiting and more likely not to return and, perhaps more importantly (2) think less of the company doing the advertising. Broken record time: annoying people isn't a good business model. Amusingly, of course, the page that has this article is chock full of ads.
