Sony has a reputation for being a great marketing company. So, it's really a surprise that they absolutely missed the boat on back-to-school sales. Many high schools and college have already started classes for the year, and the past few weeks were the big "back to school" sales season. So, why did Sony just announce their back-to-school specials today? The machines won't even be available until this weekend, which is the traditional final weekend of back-to-school savings. Sounds like someone in marketing may not have a job soon.
