Indian Focused Web Radio Finds Audience

from the as-it-should dept

An interesting article in the San Jose Mercury News talks about how a Silicon Valley based web radio station targeted towards Indians living in the US has found a rapidly growing audience. Two twin brothers started the station on a whim, and suddenly found that people wanted more and more. So, now they're working on it full time and have plans to grow it even bigger. What I'm wondering is how long until the RIAA decides that this station owes them millions of dollars despite the fact that they're not playing American music. I also think this is a good example of the great potential of web radio, which the RIAA is trying to kill. To the RIAA, stations like TaZa Radio are impossible for them to control, and anything they can't control, they need to get rid of.
