Gates Says Expensing Options Won't Hurt, But He Won't
from the facing-facts dept
Bill Gates said today that he doesn't think having companies expense options will have much of an impact on technology companies (one way or the other). All the information is public already. Anyone looking at the financial statements should already have that info factored in. It doesn't change anything important. However, he says that Microsoft won't expense options, unless the rest of the industry does so. He says this is to make sure that financial statements across the industry are created on the same basis so they're comparable.
