SonicBlue Backing Off From Lawsuit
from the how-quickly-things-change dept
Two months ago we posted a story about how SonicBlue was eager to fight the entertainment industry to show that ReplayTV was completely legal. It would appear that was really just the opinion of their now fired CEO. The new CEO has said that he plans to make the company less visible in such lawsuits. This is unfortunate. It would have been nice to see a slightly larger corporation fighting for users' fair use rights when it came to television. I know that, for me, it made me a lot more interested in buying a ReplayTV over competing products. Now, I'm not so sure.
