from the save-us,-eBay! dept
People in need of a bit of extra spare cash used to sell items at a pawn shop, or unload used books and CDs to local shops. Now, when people need a bit of extra cash, they start hunting around their apartments and houses looking for what things they can sell on eBay. The article has the story of a recent college grad who can't find a job. He now goes to local used bookstores, buys up cheap books, and then resells them for twice the price on eBay. He said he asked one of the bookstores for a job, but they turned him down - but now he realizes he's making more money off of them anyway.
