UFO Sightings May Be Secret US Military Super Blimps

from the that's-what-they'd-like-you-to-believe dept

Never sure how seriously to take these sorts of things, but a report from the National Institute for Discovery Science (of which, I have no clue how credible they are) is saying that they believe many UFO sightings are really sightings of a US Department of Defense "super blimp" that can carry tremendous amounts of cargo and fly much higher than typical aircraft. The report bases some of its conclusion on the fact that almost all of the sightings of such things occur near certain Air Force bases. The theory is that the US may be getting ready to "declassify" such things.

Why would something like this be classified in the first place?

Deployment times and capabilties that come as a suprise to an enemy are a good thing. That is why it would be kept secret (if it does exists).

possibly b/c we don't want our enemies to know how we ship important supplies...?

Anyone know how long the stealth bombers (or any of our stealth aircraft) were classified before they were made public?

I question EVERYTHING the gov't tells. This smacks of a horseshit disinformation campaign to draw peoples' attention away from the fact that UFOs are real, and from other worlds.

it would be clasified because these could be a very important weapon to beat terrorism.
So why the hell would we chance letting our enemies know
