Here's a column by a UK writer pointing out how silly a new UK law is that can put you in jail for 10 years for making or using "an illicit recording". Thus, that CD you made from MP3s will get you a stronger sentence than most drug dealers. Of course, he points out that it's unlikely any judge would sentence someone who just burned themselves a CD to 10 years in jail... but it's still possible. The rest of the article basically goes on to say that "well, at least the UK doesn't have the DMCA".
