AOL's New Music Plans

Part of the reason Real Networks has been able to hold off Microsoft for so long is AOL's commitment to using Real's software for streaming audio and video. However, as Real Networks becomes more and more of a media company, it's starting to compete with AOL in some areas. The rumor is that AOL is using its Nullsoft acquisition to build their own competing music player. So, now, we'll all have to install Real's player, Microsoft's player, Quicktime and AOL's own proprietary format. That should be fun.
