We Need A Game To Learn About File Swapping?

from the interesting-way-of-teaching dept

I usually agree with things the EFF does, but I'm not quite sure I understand the point of their Carabella game to help teach people about issues related to online file sharing. It seems like the only people who would even come across such a thing, are people who already are quite well versed in most of those issues - and for those who aren't, I'm not sure they'd really get anything out of such a simple game. The "point" of the game is to help someone try to find the music they want, without spending money, without giving up their privacy rights, and without infringing on someone's intellectual property. They say they just want people to understand all the various issues they need to think about if they're going to be involved in online file trading - which is certainly a worthy goal. However, I'm not sure this is the most effective way to do so.
