AudioGalaxy Settles With RIAA
from the pay-up,-pay-up dept
AudioGalaxy has been intimidated enough by the RIAA and has agreed to "settle" their lawsuit. It's not much of a "settlement". Basically, AudioGalaxy has to pay a lot of money, and then disable their system, so that the only files that can appear on their file trading system are ones that have specifically been "checked in". In other words, AudioGalaxy will now be mostly useless to most people. Unfortunately, this will only make the RIAA more willing to go after file trading companies and scare them into shutting down as well.
