Giving Up Email Alerts For WAP

It seems that there's a large number of people who actually like news alerts to come to them via email. There are also a large number of people who can't stand using WAP to look up information on their phone. Thus, it makes you wonder why UK news organization Ananova is ditching their email news alerts in favor of WAP alerts. It seems that these are two entirely different markets, and it would certainly make sense to at least keep the email alerts.
