2,500 Messages In One Month
from the damn dept
About two weeks ago SprintPCS finally got their act together and figured out how to let their customers send text messages to people using other carriers. So, I've finally joined the text messaging revolution, and I'm finding that I end up sending quite a few messages. However, it's still a bit surprising to hear that a teenager in the UK managed to send out 2,500 SMS text messages in one month. The teen's father, who had the ridiculously large phone bill faxed to him (the bill was 38 pages long), has forbidden the son from texting any more. There are two great quotes. First the father, saying, "I just don't know how he could keep awake to send out so many messages." Then, the kid explaining the addiction: "I was texting so much my hand hurt at the end of the day, but I thought it was great fun. Now I've learned my lesson."
