Disappearing Domains, Disappearing Jobs
from the move-on dept
Over 372,000 domain names disappeared from the internet last month as people and companies chose not to reregister their dot com (dot net, dot org, dot biz, dot info, etc) dreams. The company hurt most, of course, was Verisign, who lost 622,000 domains as many people shifted their domains to cheaper registrars. So, I guess it's not much of a surprise that Verisign laid off 350 employees today as well.
