Does Hollings Care About Consumers?

from the it's-a-question dept

Senator Hollings has taken quite a beating recently for coming up with the dangerous CBDTPA bill that seems designed to make the music industry richer at the expense of all sorts of consumers' rights. He's been accused of ignoring consumers and taking orders straight from Disney. So, now, he's coming out with a consumer privacy bill to protect the rights of consumers. Of course, there are mixed opinions about this bill as well - and whether or not it really helps or hurts. However, overall, people seem to think that it's potentially good for consumers. So, apparently, Hollings knows that consumers exist. When their privacy is involved, he's all for it - but he couldn't care less about their fair use rights.

Looks as if Senator Hollings was affected by the thrashing he got on his
    latest Disneyesque bill.
As any Senator who wishes his fame would carry him to the White House,
(and name one who doesn't) he prefers fame to notoriety.
Expect more slush frtom the new candidate.
