Did MS Foes Bribe State Attorney Generals?

from the politics-is-a-dirty-business dept

Just caught this one, as pointed out in Wired, columnist Robert Novak is apparently accusing the state attorney generals who are fighting the Microsoft settlement of receiving "bribes" from anti-Microsoft companies such as Sun and Oracle. He tracks down the fact that many of these AGs have received campaign contributions from Microsoft foes. This, of course, is why politics sucks. No matter what politicians do, it can be made to look dirty - and, in many cases, I'm sure it really is dirty. It's a wonder anything good ever happens at all.

I dunno. This could backfire and generate a lot of flipside interest in how many political pockets are lined with MS-Money....

It's "Attorneys General". :-) Think General Attorney, with a pretentious reversal of order.

Maybe we should look at how much MS gave Ashcroft, Bush, Cheney, and other elected officials. I am sure that would be a very interesting read, indeed.
