Overture Sues Google For Patent Infringement
from the lawyers-with-too-much-free-time dept
Overture seems to be believing all those reporters who seemed to think that Google's pay-per-click advertising model somehow is similar to Overture's pay-per-search result model. While most people realize the situation is totally different, that won't stop Overture from suing Google. Beyond even the issue of the supidity of "business model patents", the two companies are doing something entirely different. Overture is selling search results. Google is selling ads on search pages. Hopefully this case won't go very far.
