The Good News In Slumping Mobile Phone Sales
from the focus-on-cool-new-features dept
Here's an interesting interpretation of recent news saying that mobile phone headset sales were dropping. Instead of this being a bad thing, the article suggests it could be a good sign for the industry. They're finally maturing. Instead of having to focus on convincing everyone to buy a mobile phone and sign up for some ridiculous plan - now most people they're targeting have a phone. So, now, the mobile phone carriers can focus on offering on better and cooler services at reasonable prices, instead of subsidizing every mobile phone purchase just to show subscriber numbers were increasing. Better services (even if they cost more) are probably a good thing.
