Internet Addiction Or Compulsion
from the learn-to-log-off dept
TechTV is taking a look at whether or not people who can't log off the internet have an internet addiction or an internet compulsion. While it may seem like a pointless argument (it's just words, after all) it does matter to insurance companies who pay for treatment. Every time I heard someone call it an addiction, I get the feeling they're just trying to promote their own agenda. The compulsion argument makes a lot more sense to me. Of course, I don't know a damn thing about addictions, compulsions, or psychology, so my opinion on this matter is completely irrelevant.
