Debunking The Digital Divide

I'm still not sure where I stand on this, but more data is always useful. Here's an article that looks at some of the various studies and shows why the "digital divide" probably isn't as big a problem as many people are claiming. The article makes two main arguments: first, it shows stats saying that minorities have been greatly increasing their computer literacy rates over the past few years. Second, it debunks the theory that wage inequality has risen over the past two decades due to computers. They point out that most of the gap in wage inequality grew in the 80s and not the 90s. Though, in the interest of fairness, he also mentions that some economists say that the overall good economy pushed up the lower end wages - and that computer skills might still increase the wage gap. An interesting article no matter what you believe.
