A Spoonful Of Sugar = Tamagotchi
from the Die-Die-Die dept
Now that Tamagotchi fad is completely over, there might actually be a good use for those little electronic gizmos. Researchers at MIT have found that the elderly can be reminded to take their pills with the help of electronic pets that die if their owners don't care for them. In the process of caring for the modified Tamagotchis, owners are reminded to care for themselves and are less likely to ignore their cuddly electronic friends. I wonder if this will lead to Tamagotchis that remind kids to do their homework, or cuddly PDAs. Maybe my PalmPilot just isn't cute enough for me anymore.
