Ricochet Coming Back For Real?
from the too-late? dept
So it appears that Aerie Networks is finally getting ready to turn back on some of the old Ricochet network. They're starting with Southern California, but will hit the Bay Area by the summer. I have to admit that I'm no longer sure that I would sign up again. Knowing the problems that Metricom had getting the network to work properly, I'd be surprised if Aerie has the resources to get it working well. And, with the current "hot spot" strategy (as opposed to broad coverage), I'm less likely to find it useful for traveling.
