Distributed Computing Suddenly A Hot Topic

For the past few years, we here at Techdirt have been keenly interested in the developments of distributed computing. We've seen several implementations, from finding the cure for anthrax to looking for extraterrestrial life. It seems that the mainstream has finally caught on, but now they've renamed it "Grid Computing". I've always loved the concept of distributed computing, and I'm looking forward to seeing what applications can truly benefit from it.
