Online Media Making Money?
from the is-it-possible? dept
Could it be? Could online content and media sites actually make money? Well, maybe. That seems to be the conclusion of a Business Week article that looks at how the online media business is doing. It looks at the different strategies companies have been using to make money, and suggests that any of them (or a combination) might eventually work. The subscription based offerings seem the least likely to succeed. However, they do suggest that when the internet advertising market turns around, many of these companies will be in great shape, since they've cut their costs so much. Of course, the "when" still seems like an "if" to me. If advertisers don't see any benefit in buying online ads, I don't think the market is likely to "turn around".
