Did The FBI Hack An AIM Account?

from the seems-unlikely dept

Friends of the teenager arrested last week for disorderly conduct in NY last week, have said that someone has been logging into his AIM account and threatening them. They, of course, blame the FBI. This seems a bit unlikely, as it would make more sense that some other random person hacked into his AIM accounts and is just having fun. Of course, there is the possibility that the AIM accounts on his confiscated computers are set to automatically login when connected. So, if the FBI actually connected the machines to the internet, it would log them in. However, it seems like a strange (and probably backwards) tactic to then harass random other people on an IM system.
