The Few Dot Coms That Are Hiring
from the deluged-by-resumes dept
I have a few friends who work in HR at various technology startups in Silicon Valley. They all hate Google. It seems that everyone they interview really wants to work at Google - and if Google wants them, that's where they go. It seems that Google is one of the few internet companies still hiring, and they're paying the price for it: over 600 resumes come in a day (the company currently employs 300 people). Many applicants aren't even remotely qualified, but that doesn't stop them from trying. The article also mentions PayPal and eBay as other local companies that get way too many resumes - all dealt with by an overworked HR staff.
