Gaming For Money

from the pay-to-play,-play-to-pay dept

Emcdon writes it to tell us about a new online game that takes advantage of people who like to sell their online gaming characters and equipment. The game lets you turn real (hard earned) dollars into virtual dollars that can be used to buy stuff in the game. You can also play the game without real money, but it (obviously) takes longer to get stuff - which eventually you can trade in for real money. However, you have to be careful because things like armor and equipment depreciate (i.e., provide the company making the game with some income). It's an interesting idea. I wonder if it will catch on at all.
