Perfect Compression Sketchiness

from the it-does-what-now? dept

Okay, more and more experts seem to agree with our initial suggestion that ZeoSync's "perfect compression" idea isn't true. We already pointed out how a number of skeptics with expertise in compression have scoffed at ZeoSync - including a few named in their press release touting the "amazing" breakthrough. Apparently, it's even worse on newsgroups of compression experts who think this is all bunk. Wired has an interview with the CEO of ZeoSync where he's particularly evasive on a number of questions about the technology. If this actually worked, it would be quite a breakthrough - but you would think that "experts" in the field would have a bit more proof before they started releasing fluff filled press releases about their "impossible" accomplishments.
