Japanese Came Up With Segway First
from the keep-innovating dept
An interesting story about a Japanese robotics professor who feels that he invented a very similar device to the Segway fifteen years ago and patented it in Japan. He has a number of other patents related to it as well. It doesn't sound exactly alike, but there are a lot of similarities. The guy says that he would like to meet Dean Kamen and exchange ideas, and that he doesn't have much interest in getting into a fight over the patent (though, he would like Kamen to admit that he was first in coming up with the idea).
