3G Or Not 3G Elsewhere

from the the-argument-rages dept

Yesterday we spoke about whether or not Sprint's "3G" wireless services were really 3G. It seems that the argument isn't limited to the US. Korea and Japan are arguing over who has the "real" 3G network up and running. The more important question, however, might be what happens next. Some people are afraid that because one technology is cheaper and easier to set up than the other, that the other technology may never get off the ground in many places. And, meanwhile, other folks have moved on to planning "4G" technologies - and not surprisingly no one can agree there, either.
