Northern Light Shutting Down Public Search Tool
from the that's-unfortunate dept
Northern Light has decided to shut down their public search tool and focus only on the enterprise market. I'm a bit surprised at this decision. They say that it's because the public site wasn't supporting itself. However, I always thought that Northern Light used the public site as a way to build up business for the enterprise offerings. Also, I would think that the results from public searches would be a good way to improve their technology. Maybe they were discovering that their public search wasn't working very well compared to sites like Google and Moreover. Update: Or maybe they found a better deal working with the CIA. Ah, so their business model path is following that of Zaplet.
