Intel Spammer Trespassed

from the mixed-reactions dept

The case between former Intel employee Kourosh Kenneth Hamidi and Intel over whether or not Hamidi spammed 35,000 Intel employees after he was fired has been going on for quite a while. Now the courts are saying that Hamidi is guilty of trespassing by sending his grievances to 35,000 Intel employees. Groups like the EFF and ACLU think this is a horrible decision. While I usually find myself agreeing with them, I think I agree with the courts on this one, instead. He did send an unsolicited email that was disruptive. I also don't see why Intel doesn't have the right to block certain incoming mail to their servers. As a private company it is their right. It might not be smart, but they should be able to do it.
