People Don't Want A Single ID Online
from the uh-oh-for-Passport dept
Microsoft is really pushing their Passport concept these days. Apparently, they didn't stop to ask any actual internet users what they thought of it. A new study shows that most internet users don't want a single ID they can use at multiple sites. They want to be able to pick and choose and only give which info they want to which sites. Of course, most techies could have told you the same thing about ideas like Passport a while ago - but it's good to see that many people in the larger population fear one company having control over a single ID as well.
