Pope Emails It In

from the why-bother-traveling dept

The Pope has apparently decided the internet is a useful enough tool that he's going to email a message to bishops in the South Pacific rather than going to see them personally. I just have this image of the Pope using instant messaging to chat with various bishops. I guess that's probably not what's going on, but it would be pretty cool.

Okay, am I the only one who thinks that's like something straight out of the Farside? I still remember the one where God is at his computer, you see some poor sap on the screen and God reaching for the "Smite" button:-)

Can I be a virtual presence at Mass, then?

Kidding. I don't go to Mass.
