Implant Brings Dog Home

from the ah,-modern-technology dept

Doesn't this sound a bit creepy? A dog who was lost was reunited with its owner thanks to a microchip implanted under the dog's skin. Apparently, these microchips are used quite often for identification purposes. Of course, it took 10 months before the dog was found. Maybe future versions of the chip need to have some sort of Lojack locater system included...

My girlfriend's cats have had microchips for years. She says the newest versions have GPS-like stuff incorporated .
