Someone has been studying various online auctions for a few years to determine what factors influence auction prices. It seems you're better off bidding on items that don't have a picture, are available during a weekday, are available for a shorter period of time, and are being offered by an inexperienced seller. Otherwise, expect to pay more. Of course, if you're selling stuff, you probably want to stay away from most of those things...
