Hype, VCs, Web Services, And The Edge

Still struggling with the concept behind web services? You might not be the only one. VCs are struggling with it a bit as well, meaning that all these "next big thing" web services companies aren't guaranteed funding (phew). The article focuses on web services companies focusing on "edge" computing, which just makes the situation more confusing. My favorite is the company that is working on something that even they admit doesn't solve any particular need. I'm quickly losing interest in any company that says they're doing web services or edge computing. Forget that stuff. What do you do? What problem do you solve? Why will customers (not investors) give you money? Simple questions. Tricky answers.
