How Technology Liberates Journalists
from the broadcast-from-anywhere dept
Yesterday I posted about how photojournalists are switching to digital cameras and now the Economist has an article about another technology that many journalists are finding necessary: the satellite video phone. We've all been seeing the reporters inside Afghanistan file their reports from choppy satellite video phones, and the technology is only getting better and cheaper. The article suggests this might revolutionize reporting. Suddenly it's easy for anyone with one of these devices to broadcast from anywhere to anywhere in the world, without much effort.
