Theory Doesn't Always Equal Practice

from the welcome-to-the-real-world dept

An interesting NY Times article (so only those of you sneaky enough to have registered, or to steal someone else's username/password, can read it) about a Harvard B-School professor who taught one of the first classes on e-commerce. A few years ago he finally ditched teaching to try to prove himself in the real world. Reality proved a little more difficult than he expected. It sounds like they were initially a bit unfocused about what they were doing. A television show, a magazine, and a consulting firm, all rolled up in one? Anyway, he's still positive about everything and hasn't given up yet. I think it's good that he's still thinking positively. I'd be interested to hear how he thinks he'd teach his class differently if he went back to teaching it again.
