In 1997 he set up an 802.11 (no -b) network in rural Maine to provide broadband access to neighboring landlocked and offshore island communities." Pretty cool example of how a small company could set up a fixed wireless solution for a fairly large region. I just wish someone would offer that near my house already. Though, honestly, the startup costs (~$800) are a bit steep.
