Adapt, Shape Or Die

A pretty good article talking about how companies need to make decisions on whether to shape a market or adapt to conditions in a market. The article makes some really good points about how most "tools" that companies use for strategic decision making are useful for companies that are adapting to a market, but not necessarily for those shaping a market. As a big fan of scenario planning, which I still think is a grossly underused tool, I tend to agree. Scenario planning works great for both types of decision making, but companies seem to focus on making short term decisions based on the wrong questions.
