Reg Got It Wrong - No Secret Meeting

from the sounded-too-good-to-be-true dept

Harold writes "The story you quoted from The Register about the 'secret meeting' of RIAA etc execs was made up - and The Register have apologised for using it. Not a lot can be done about these things... would have hoped The Reg might have checked a few things out first, though." That Michael Eisner quote was a little over the top. Our apologies for blindly believing the Register.

    1) We want to believe (ok are willing to/scared to) the RIAA and big corps are willing to screw over the consumer
    2) The Reg is not normally suckered in.

But, even the Wall Street Journal gets suckered in. I just have to rmember to take in salt with ANY story.....
