Monster.com Laying People Off, Blaming Attacks
from the huh? dept
For the last few months people have been talking about how online job sites have been doing okay through the downturn (mostly because there were so many more people looking for work - so their "inventory" went up). Well, I wonder if the folks who just got laid off from Monster.com will post their resumes to the site at all. I also think it's a little strange that they're blaming this decision on the Sept. 11 tragedy. It seems like a lot of companies are "blaming" the tragedy for their own economic problems now, when it's unclear how that really had anything to do with their business.
